No it doesn't, it is symbolic nonsense for the nationalists, the current arrangement is superb, and in a region where there is huge political interference from both strains of politicians in every area of public life, I will be holding my breath here.

OK if it facilitates some form of peace building between the two communities, well and good, but I really fear for the integrity of the system.

Not on the basis that there would be a problem with corruption or prejudice, rather the politicians are reared in a culture of tribalism and clientelism and I can't see them not trying to influence things on behalf of their tribes and individual constituents.

Here's hoping though!
