Irish Criminal Law

Just wondering about the legality or otherwise of An Post's action in dismissing Mrs Bernie Moore, postmistress at Carrigans, Co. Donegal. Did they dismiss her and deprive her of her pension before carrying out an internal investigation and before the outcome of the Garda Siochana's inquiries were known? Thanks, Paul
